mono block speaker inputs

Ok sorry if this is a dumb question I just had to ask you guys (the car audio gods) why is there 2 + and - inputs if its only one channel? If a amp does 1200 watts rms at 2 ohms on 1 channel then would that mean if you used both inputs then the 1200 watts would be divided by 2 and do 600 watts to each sub or what ?

all it is is like an extra set of terminals hooked together , easier to wire up a pair of subs. so like if you wired one sub to them the power would not be split since it is only one channel and the single sub would see the 1200 watts , wouldnt matter which pos or neg you used. but like you said if 2 subs are used the power would split only because the subs are sharing the 1200 watts by taking 600 a piece.

It's just an internally paralleled connection for ease of wiring.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
