So i was using the dd hv on my p400-4 with the clip detector and everytime the amp would get distortion it made a high whining sound both the clip detector on amp and dd hv were spot on so i tried it on my t1000-4ad and same thing anyone else notice this

I have a new rockford p300x2 and a smd dd1 and when track 4 to set the amp is makes a whining sound from the amp also.

I wonder if this could be a way to test clipping from the head unit too could be a way for people to adjust their amps without an oscope or dd1

You still need something to set the level of the headunit.

This sound was happening when i got distortion im not sure if there would be a backwards way to test it maybe by setting the gain on amp lower and turning up the headunit until you hear it or just by adjusting back and fourth between amp and hu. Either way if you somehow can find your max vol on hu you should be set with your amp with this method
