Then how do you know it is too much of you don't understand the physics that proves it does? Unless you can prove that the formula Small came up with for this is wrong, don't tell people to not follow it.

because people who have vast experience with the woofer I was using for that tools me to use something which was more than half of the that.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

I've had limited time with bullet tweets, I've heard prolly 10or so different lay outs. I've installed 4 sets. soI'm not the best to give advice on them but i will give you my $.02

from the time I've had with them, they do sound good... as soft and dynamic as silk dome tweets... id say no.

the best Way i can describe them is to tell you the two most extremes.

one.build i used them on this kid had a 600w sub stage and a 400w 4 channel for his front stage.

the tweets were put in his A pillars (i always try to bounce off glass with tweets) after all said and done the tweets were very very loud! actually harsh and over powering. i know he had to much for his front stage for the lack of sub stage. so in.his case a nice pair of silk tweets would have been better.

the other build was a 97 s10. 2 15s on 3500w

with 320w going to the front stage. same location for the tweets..but this time they sounded so much nicer. i can't recall each brand but they weren't worlds apart or anything.

In short, unless you have a massive sub stage i would just use silk tweets. they can sound good...but they can be over powering.

same thing as adding a SMD 18 on 10,000w to astock ssystem with deck power stock speakers. the sub is gonna over power everything and your gonna hate it.

Good explanation man thankyou! That make's perfect sense. My main ride is in the shop right now. But my "other" car that I've been driving has two Rockford Fosgate P3 12's in center port slotted box. Each "side" is about 3.3 cubic ft and its tuned around 36 I believe. Best sub setup I've had personily for a sedan...but I'm running Kicker CS 6.5 component's up front(the stck crossover was total crap...tweeters kept shutting off on deck power) so I replaced them. In the back are Kicker DS 6x9's. Not my ideal setup but ohwell. When I changed out the crossovers I also threw in a cheap little Autotek(I know I know) 4 channel I had laying in my closet. The two together made a world of difference but the vocals and treble aren't quite "poping' enough for me. I was toying with the idea of either running two sets of components....or running two mid ranges and a bullet tweeter per side. Still haven't decided. What do you think? As a reference in SQ...the kickers use Titanium dome tweeters.
