milburyl Posted November 23, 2014 Author Report Posted November 23, 2014 Well, just for testing purposes, I put one of my new Kinetik HC600'S in my Enclave, hooked to the JL 1000/1 and I think I will be alright with the 2 Kinetik HC600's and one of the $99 deep cycle batteries from Walmart. Gotta keep in mind, I'm only running 1500 watts RMS total. It made a difference in my bass. Music that was starting to distort the woofer didn't distort after I put the HC600 in. It played louder, cleaner and didn't distort any. Hearing it with just one of the HC600'S, I'm pretty confident that 2 will be enough, not to mention the 12 farads of caps that will be installed as well. Pretty impressed with that battery. Small, but packs a HUGE punch. The factory voltage meter in the Enclave reads almost a whole volt higher now too.
milburyl Posted November 25, 2014 Author Report Posted November 25, 2014 The weather warmed up a lot today. Got the cracks and crevices in the shed filled with expanding foam today, and got to put some deadener on my drivers side door as well.

No, didnt get any on the inside. The car has been rust checked and has a film of grease/oil and i didnt want to wash it off. I am going to try to fibreglass an enclosure inside of the speaker opening instead.
milburyl Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 I picked up a battery. I opted on the largest Marine Deep Cycle battery that Walmart sold. I'm pretty confident that this battery along with the 2 Kinetik HC600's should be enough juice. Emailed Singer Alternators and got an email back, he says that he's not sure if he can rebuild mine because of its age, but he was going to look into it some more. He did give me the specs for my factory alternator though. It's a 70 amp ,v-groove alternator. Might end up having to get a Mechman Universal Slim alternator if he says he can't re-do mine. Anyway, a couple pics of the battery I did end up getting, and the 2 Kinetik batteries too.

One is black and the model is HC600B and the other is blue and the model is just HC600. On Sonics website, they sell both, and the black one is $10 more, but weighs less. There is no info on the Kinetik website either.
milburyl Posted December 4, 2014 Author Report Posted December 4, 2014 No system progress, but I thought II'd share a couple photos of some 8" midbass that i picked up. They are TC Sounds OEM one-off speakers. Going to put these in the kick panels. They are a cool transparent blue color, but will be covered with grilles so they won't clash with my orange CDT's. Buddy who had them had some 8" CDT carbons, but missed buying them by a week. But these should sound good as well.
