sotasystems Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 Hello, I have a Fi SP4 18 and would like to build a ported box for it. I’d like to use 6 cuft as net-volume. (Fi themselves state 6 cuft – 8 cuft) I am going to run the sub with a Crescendo 3500d amp (for now I am going to run it with an Ampier MB1000.1) Now to my main questions: 1.) How big should the port at least be, that there won’t be any port noises? 2.) Which tuning frequency would you recommend me (I have read that something between 30Hz and 35Hz is recommended and tends to deliver best results)?
islandpride684 Posted November 10, 2014 Report Posted November 10, 2014 Post in subwoofer/enclosure, what are your max dimensions. Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
Joe X Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Yes this goes on the subwoofer/enclosures section, port area is dependent on tuning and the sub's specs, tuning is dependent on music you play and vehicle you use, so include what vehicle the sub is going in and the max dims for a box.
