chicopup26
About to purchase the xs d3400 my plan is to use that battery to replace my stock and run my soundqubed 1200.1 and 120.4 off of it with a run of 1/0 shca ofc with a distro block. Will that battery suffice for those two amps and possibly replace the 1200 for the 2200 later? 160a alternator and 1/0 ofc big 3 is current electrical
P4killer_
1200 sure. 2200 nope. Youd need at least another 3400. rockFord_Expedition
If your alternator puts out a true 160, then any battery will work. Watts= volts x amperage. So if your alt does let's say 130A after warm @ 14v that's 1820 watts. Remember your vehicle needs some of that, and those numbers don't account for any voltage drop, so I'd say you are pretty much maxed out with a 1400w system. Those are just estimates though. If you want to go higher then that, you'll want to consider an upgrade. 12v batteries don't help feed your system when your alternator is producing enough current and voltage, but they do have their place. XS power batts are good, but as I learned the hard way, I would definitely take precautions to shield them from heat when using them under the hood.
