Motorboat KER
Shout out to SonicElectronix! If you are going to order car audio and you want the best customer support, I recommend http://www.sonicelectronix.com/. I was a lucky winner of the NVX VCW give away. I had a few other cars I planned on installing it in but they all had problems. So I am putting it in a beater (new car in a few months). This sub is heavy! When I opened the shipping box I saw the sub had completely ripped out of the NVX box! The sub shots: ( I have not taking the plastic off the bottom yet!). Got to work with a box. 1.25 cubes tuned to 32hz. Gotta stay classy while working! The cut out dimension was either wrong or my measuring was wrong since it barely fits. I am going to fix it with a double baffle. Bracing still has to go in too! Current plan is to resin the outside of the box and make it smooth, then prime it bright white and have my buddy sharpie graffiti it. It will be getting powered by a RockFord Fosgate Prime 1200. Wired to 1 ohm getting ~1200w.

The screws are coming out, just used them to hold the baffle down while the glue dries.

Motorboat KER
Not the smartest way.. But guess it'll work. To let the glue dry? I screwed it, clamped it and put the sub on it while it was drying. It is solid and that is how I have always done a baffle, I am sure there is a better way to do it but it has never failed me yet. I use my clamps to hold the glued piece in place Then use my nail gun to set in place (Not too many, it's just to make it easy to work with) Then put some countersunk screws in for good measure, about every 6 inches for bigger boxes and 3.5-4 inches for smaller ones Some people (Dave The Box Guy) use clamps and wood glue exclusively (I had one of his boxes once upon a time and it was solid) AMICUSTOMS has always said that a mechanical bond properly done is stronger than a chemical bond (screws over glue, he also uses both) A few friends do Liquid nails and brad nails (I do not recommend this at all) The L@zy Hoe 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2,500 Watts of Highs/Mids 4 10 midrange 4 6.5 midwoofers 4 Tweeters 6 Supertweeters 2 Lithium 80AH Batteries 24K Watts 4 Custom 18s Quad alt setup Rebuilt 250amp and 3 370s Interior work by Lone Star Auto Works The Build Log Like Loud Bass? Squirt some on a finger and spread it around. I like the screw method because it lets the glue get close to equal pressure on all spots it needs to adhere to. Especially with the type of port I have here.
Motorboat KER
Video being uploaded of the sub bumping. Finally started to break it in. Gain all the way down (no DD1 to tune correctly yet). The box I made for this thing slams!
