Ricky Reboot Dean Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 So I have a problem with my amp. It is a car amp wired in with a PC power supply at 13V (yes ghetto but works). I had it mounted on my desk for a while and it kept on going into protect mode. Can vibration cause an amp to go into protect mode? I really like where is was mounted and would like to re-mount it. If it does I will not be able too.

Vibration to an extreme degree may cause protect if something gets wiggled lose, but i have never heard of it. How was it mounted and how much vibration was going on? Jessica Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 I'm guessing low voltage. PC power supplies are 12v not 13v. Post what the 12v power rail shows for amperage on the label and post what amp you are using. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Ricky Reboot Dean Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 I checked PC it is 12V. I am suing a 470 watt ultimate and it does 470 watt on 12V at 4 ohms. It was on a single 500 watt clarion at 4 ohms.
