Serious budget ground pounder build opinions needed

Recommended Posts

I get It man you just want to play with new stuff we are all that way.

So $500 just for subs? If so I think you may want to scale back the amount you'd likely get better performance from 4 good subs than 8 shitty ones.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Finnaly someone who understands.. what kind of 12s do u have in mind? My thought was the fact that 8 12s have more cone area than 2 15s. So in theory wouldn't 8 12s be louder than 2 15s? If everything was equal of course because I know a s***** sub will not match the output of my HDC3s

I set the cap at $500 Bcs it seems like a reasonable budget for 8- 12s

In my HONEST opinion.. thats a reasonable budget for 2 alright 12s.

My "eh" (not bad, but not competitive) 10s were 34% over that budget.

Im just worried about you not being happy, because you're coming from SOLID subs now.

And I appreciate your concern which is part of the reason I said no kicker... And I regret my earlier Pyle comment as well..

I think I can do it with some 12" alpine basslines or maybe some dvc Rockford fosgates.. I trust those brands ... Perhaps your right on the budget I think 100 a sub is much more reasonable.. but I'd still like to see if I can get half-az decent subs for $500

Amp I have today is a hifonics glx2200d

However I am seriously considering a sound stream rub.2500.1 possibly 2 for the 8-12 setup... My opinion is that if I blow a sub I'll just toss it out an get a new one

Are you ready to buy like right now? If so I'd keep an eye out for black Friday sales droppinhz was talking about some stuff being 40% off that day only and soundqubed has everything 10% off that day. I'm also willing to bet sonic electronicx will have some good deals as well among many others.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Bro, entry level digital designs for days! I bought my 512 series (discontinued now but replaced with many other lines) for $110 brand new. That single sub plus 500 watts was the loudest system I have ever heard in that price/power range. Spent less than $400 for that entire system (subs, amp, wiring, head unit)

Vehicle: 2014 GMC Sierra 2500HD WT

Head Unit: Pioneer DEH-

Mids/Highs: Focal Integration ISC 165’s (front)

Subs/Amps: TBD
