I am looking for an amp that could push two sundown 18's in a ported box. Here is the specs of the 18's from sundowns website.

RE: 4.08 ohms
Fs: 28.42 Hz
Qes: 0.41
Qms: 9.14
Qts: 0.39
Le: 3.89 mH
Vas: 139 L
BL: 27.80 NA
Cms: 71.56 uM/N
Mms: 438 g
Sens: 90.73 dB
RMS: 1500 watts

I have seen people on here that pushed 3500 watts to a single zv2 18 so I was thinking of 3,000 rms watts a piece. Not sure if I should be looking at 6,000 watt monoblock amps or should I be looking at a 2 channel 6,000 watt amp. I have heard that monoblocks normally are the better route. What would you recommend to push these subs? Thanks in advance.

Judging by your question(the fact that you're asking), stick closer to rated. A single 3500W amp will be plenty for what you need.

Yeah, there's that one guy....on YouTube.....that put an NS-1 to 2 SA8s. Until you're more experienced, go with RMS ratings when matching amps and subs.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

I'm not am Audiopipe fan. I got each of my Sundown 3500s cheaper than that price and it's a better amp. I see used DC3.5K and Crescendo BC3500s for for $550 used all day and that's a better but as well.

The upside is that the amp you mentioned IS the Korean built one and is of better quality than the other Audiopipe stuff.

What amp do you got?

A Populus Audio 3500D, and it uses the Flatline FL2 board

I was under the impression that my subs were DVC 4 ohms, when they actually are 2 Ohm DVC. So I should be looking for a an amp that puts out around 3500 watts at 2 ohms or at 0.5 ohms. Any suggestions for something that would atleast give each sub 1500 watts at 2 or 0.5 ohms? I really don't want to underpower them.

More questions. If I wire them both so they are in parellel/series, I can wire them to 2 ohms. Looking at the specs of the sundown 3500 amp, it says that at 2 ohms it puts out (-RMS power, 2 ohm mono 1750W x 1CH). Wouldn't this mean that 1750/2 speakers =875 watts rms. Wouldn't this be underpowering them since the website says they are 1500 watts rms a piece? Shouldna't I be looking at amps that put out around 3,000 rms at 2 ohms? Or am I going about this wrong?
