My question is what kinda options do i have to get more power to my amp or is what i have sufficent. i been trying to find a dual anl fuse block with 0ga input with a 0 or 4ga output but i cant seem to find crap so im thinking ive done something wrong. 2001 Chevy Astro Van - DBDRIVE (12) 15" WDX 7k Subs DBDRIVE (6) a7 7500.1h Amps JY Power ( 6 ) 80 ah 16v packs Custom Electric Services (3) 370a 16v Alternators IASCA HEAVYWEIGHT IASCA IDBL USACI STREETBEAT4 #teamTnE #FLORIDABASSHEAD #772 #DBDRIVE #hurtsfeelings #teamDBDRIVE #TEAMJYPOWER #TEAMCustomElectric
rockFord_Expedition
Is something not working properly? 4ga to your mids/highs amp is sufficient. If you want more output and more power, first step is to upgrade your alt if you haven't already and another run of 1/0 to the rear. Scotty Cross
i have 8ga runing to my mids and 4ga runing to the mono block i just dont wanna under power anything this is my 1st build. i only run the mono block at 60% gain with a 200a fuse but the amp calls for a 250a. im probaly just over thinking. just trying 2 make sure everythings done before i throw the seat back in 2001 Chevy Astro Van - DBDRIVE (12) 15" WDX 7k Subs DBDRIVE (6) a7 7500.1h Amps JY Power ( 6 ) 80 ah 16v packs Custom Electric Services (3) 370a 16v Alternators IASCA HEAVYWEIGHT IASCA IDBL USACI STREETBEAT4 #teamTnE #FLORIDABASSHEAD #772 #DBDRIVE #hurtsfeelings #teamDBDRIVE #TEAMJYPOWER #TEAMCustomElectric
CleanSierra
I see what looks like a piece of 1/0 ground going to what I'm guessing is the Hifonics? You should really have the same size power and ground wire going into the amp. An 18" run of 4 gauge is really fine on a stock charging system got that short of a run. You're ground should match though, not be a larger run. There are plenty of single 1/0 and dual out fused distribution blocks. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. rockFord_Expedition
Is your wire 100% OFC? The 4 ga wire isn't rated for 200A so that fuse is too big. Probably the same case for the 8ga. Wiring could be a bottleneck in your system but only if your alt makes enough current for this to be the case. Wiring could be a bottleneck in your system but only if your alt makes enough current for this to be the case. We are only talking about an 18" run though. It will carry a Hell of a lot of current if it's OFC. On a stock charging system, and such a short run, 4 gauge is fine, Heck I bet CCA would do the trick too.
