didn't even turn the system on today. All i did was warm up the truck this morning so i could move it out the driveway. When i backed out i heard a loud pop! i thought i forgot to lock the tailgate or something. got home from work and the amp is in protect. all wires and connections are good. Is it possible that maybe frost from the cold could have done something. its been colder than this, and i have periodically checked for any moisture in the bed ,and haven't found any. any ideas?

no, everything has been running great for months now! I think it just died. Can i send it to dc for repairs? I will have to pay cause its not under warranty, but probably cheaper than replacing it.

visually inspect the board for any burn marks and what not

check your fuses, maybe that pop was a fuse blowing.

Dang that sucks. Amp Repair Center is in Ohio which may be cheaper for you but I've heard rumors they won't mess with amps above 5k's anymore, may want to check with them on that though that's just hear say.

they will ask you to send it somewhere else..

dbr can refurbish it for you but will only give you a guaranty it wont be DOA.. he wont give you warranty on amps that are 5k and up

Who is dbr? and i guess it depends on how much it would cost. there isn't any burnt smell like something fried, it just won't come out of protect.

fuses are good, grounds are good, crawled under the truck and checked everything. 175.4 is still playing fine. i guess i could take the cover off and look at the guts, but i really don't know much about what to look for,but i would like to learn. thanks for the link Miguels!
