Sorry I didn't mean mounting an amp to a subwoofer box. In my case, I have a piece of wood bolted to the floor pan of my trunk. Then I have my amps mounted to the board using the insulators between the amps and the board. I wont ever mount anything directly to my sub box.

i didn't take it that way, its cool.

Imho

big/large board, should never be on the box...

UNLESS....

and the "unless" is a big one...

11 layer section, dead space,... that sort of deal.........

and some "rubber thingys"...... id just look else where to mount your 1200 dollar plus piece of gear..... just me.

that said?!!... it could have lasted there for years.... or blown on day 2.

Really...... things happen...

But, no way would i have mounted my large board the way you did... where you did... .. just saying.

bass was so loud that the screws were gone in a moment it seems...maybe its the force??

it does suck..

and i am sorry.......

ive lost 2 amps in my entire audio who ha....

One was a dc 175.4.

I went for a drive playing it.

Parked it.

Next day started it, heard a "pop".

It was dead.

From that, to that..... just like that.

It happens. Im just sorry it was on your big boy..... that would crush me. ..

But, ... pull up your boot straps, carry on, and continue.....

straight up.

got quoted 3-400 for repair from db-r, guess ill give it a go,nothing warrantied on something this big though. For the most part i made this thread to gain some knowledge,and i did. thanks for all the input. Now I'm gonna go order an ampere to hold me over. ;)
