infinite baffle question

Hey guys I have a quick question I want to run by everybody.

I have a 2004 Chrysler concorde that I would like to install 2 12" tantric sounds hd , they are already in a box but I like the idea of an infinite baffle.

My question is, I have 3 us amps md3d that I wanted to use one for each subwoofer but I have read that the sub's power rating will be limited because its kinda like free air. So I'm worried about over powering the sub's. I CAN use 1 for both sub's and run it at half ohm but I'd like max output.

If I can I'd like to grab another HD and run 3

Thanks for any help guys!! Teach me in the art of infinite baffle!!

do this, install 2 subs, 2 amps and set the gains according to the mechanical limits of the sub... as you said, it's acting like freeair so it will need a lot less power to reach it's mechanical limits compared to the sub in a box.

Bye bye trunk lid.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

no reason you can't run both amps. I'm guessing at 2ohms each. should be better for your electrical. i would set with a dd1 and back down.

if your going for "Max output an ib isn't really the way to go. but as far as best sounding... hard to find a sweeter sound

Yea sorry about that I just meant max output as putting the amps to 1ohm to each sub's, there both dual 2ohm.

I've also heard that frequencies above 40-60 hertz are a no go, is that true?

i don't know about that, its all vehicle/install dependent

is your trunk already covered in deadner?

also from what I've read and researched, people that have made a wooden floor for there ib trunk have had great results.

instead of trying to seal off the spare tire, or fill it with foam. cutting a 1/2inch sheet of birch or mdf the same shape as the trunk floor. also cutting it in half is allot easier. so you can remove if you get a flat.

are you gonna be doing a build log?

i love IB systems, form and function. what's not to love!

As of right now I don't have enough money for some deadner, I'm looking at the fatmat because ive had experience with it and its the cheapest compared to other brands. You saying a piece of wood to cover the area from right behind the sub's to the trunk lid? That would help out since I would have a spot to bolt all of my stuff down as well.
