db_speakerbox Posted May 7, 2015 Author Report Posted May 7, 2015 will you be at slamology? i wanna hear this. Yep we will be there. Just look for Team IAK. We usually have a whole area reserved just for us since we have the biggest club there. Senchez should be there too along with Jamy in the astro.

db_speakerbox Posted June 29, 2015 Author Report Posted June 29, 2015 Haven't updated in a while. Gave a few demos at slamology, don't know if anyone on here got one or not, the layout was a little weird this year. Pulled the sp4s out after slam. Bought some stuff called acry-tech acoust-x to coat the inside of the sealed section. It mass loads the walls to reduce panel resonance and lowers Fb much how poly fill does. Also filters out harmonics and reflections and seals everything really well. It goes on pretty easy, like super thick paint and cures to a rubber type finish. Pretty happy with it. Have 2 of the SHDs mounted, still need to repair the 3rd due to former noise. Made a quick vid of free air testing on the 8k. All I can say is the thing moves and took it like a champ. My phone doesn't do it much justice. Should have some vids of the 2 playing soon.
db_speakerbox Posted July 6, 2015 Author Report Posted July 6, 2015 Finally got the new port made. Tuned at Fc and a tad larger than 1/2 cone netted the best performance in terms of frequency response and lows. Again, this design is for loud low, not the highest peak possible. That is why it has a large sealed and not the typical design. Yes, it would have a higher score with a little smaller sealed, larger ratio, and higher Fc. That being said, it still does 50s at 23hz so by no means is it quiet lol. Just thought I would bring it up again after so many people asking at shows. Here is a vid from the weekend doing some testing. It moves some wicked air in the 20's. On 2 SHDs and clamping right at 3500w peak total right now. Still room to grow. Low note on the 2nd song is 24hz as a reference. Let me know what you think!
Jordan Thurston Posted July 7, 2015 Report Posted July 7, 2015 Just read thru the whole build looks awesome and looks like it gets down pretty good great job man
