I would like to do something like that to my roof in my explorer, but I have a sunroof, which makes it more complicated. You could still do it. Just box around the sunroof with the square tube. It is welded onto the double seam at the roof line so you could still do it the way we did if you didnt want to keep the sunroof. It is low enough it would clear.

You just break it down into sections that are easy to measure. Such as the flat area in the front, measure the height/width depth inside the wheel well boxes. then measure the area behind the angle the same way. After that measure the entire ported section above the wheel well boxes. height * width * depth divided by 1728 for each section. Add them together for total net volume. Subtract bracing and sub displacement as required. http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/enclosure-volume-calculator/ This is pretty handy for doing more complex calculations such as round ports, angles, etc. Hope that helps
db_speakerbox Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 Just a small update. Haven't been able to work much yet. Still have to take it easy for a few more weeks. Still have to finish the console piece for the 8's and gauges, door panels and some cosmetic stuff. Got the new Clarion CZ702 head unit installed. Haven't tuned it and made a conservative gain adjustment by ear. Went to the Meca show yesterday just to do some demos and put up a couple scores. Took first place with a 154 @ 26hz. Did a 2nd run at 48hz and put up a 154 again lol. Forgot to turn up the lowpass so lost about 2db. Oh well not chasing numbers right now anyway. People seemed impressed with the demos and made some new friends. Great weekend overall.

db_speakerbox Posted May 6, 2015 Author Report Posted May 6, 2015 We went to a FCBC show this past weekend. Weather was great and gave out a lot of demos. Does it play low they asked. Yes it does. Most said they have never heard 20's played so loud before. Always feels good to have positive reactions to all the work you put in. Still some work to be done and still haven't swapped in the SHDs yet so 2 sp4's are still in there. Still one more vid uploading. Playing Enya edit 17-25hz

Texas is quite far away, and this guy def doesn't want to be there in the summer lol. The 2 sp4s should be out and 3 shds in and full power before or soon after slamology in june. Still gained down and single 300a fuse at the moment.
