UKSQguy Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Thought i'd throw up a build log for my Accord build and give you guys some background. I co-own and run Subtronix car audio in Nottingham, England (a stones throw away from Sherwood forest-you know the legends?) , been into audio in some way for 18 years, and set up shop about 18 months ago. We are dealers for Hertz, Audison, Rainbow and many others. I also compete in EMMA sound quality at a high level, and won the season championship in 2012 in a more intermediate class (was my first year). This build log is for my SQ car, a 2004 Accord wagon 2.2i-cdti. There may be some things missing along the way so if you spot something i havent explained feel free to shout up. The car Source unit is the Pioneer P90 combo headunit and processor. I fabbed up a custom mount for is as i didnt want to disturb the factory Nav/heater controls in any way. Custom doors were made to house the HAT L8se midbass, but currently have a se of the imagine 6 x 9's in there for midbass in a 2 way setup In the trunk i have a pair of xtant amps running subs and tweeters, with a genesis profile 4 ultra running midbass hidden underneath. The subs are Hybrid audio prototypes for years back, belong to Team hybrids so i'm very privileged to be able to use them as only a handful exist. A pair here in ISO configuration. The sub box doesnt really fit in with the shape of the trunk and was supposed to only be temporary but i ended up building a carpetted cover for it until i decide what to do in there. Same with the amp rack. Processor is mounted where the original sub used to reside And this is how it looked for a season minus the sub box cover Tweeters are HAT L1pro se in cnc machined pods fabbed into the a-pillars. I threw some carpet on them while i decide on a colour theme. And thats about it. Planned changes for this year - Sub relocation either to boot floor or passenger footwell, L3pro mids to go in new a-pillar builds, and a new flat trunk floor so i can slide a nice big ported box in there for this puppy... ...so i can do spl competition too this year. Need to find an amp for it. I'll sign out with this, a pic of my season winning bmw build from 2012.
