Upgrading from Sundown E-8 ported to sealed 15. RE SEX15D4 vs Sundown E-15

Hey guys I am hoping I can get some opinions. I drive an 05 dodge dakot club cab and currently have a Pioneer 6700bt head unit with a Sundown E-8v3d4 powered by a Rockford Fosgate R500x1d (birth sheet 620 watts I believe) It is in the enclosure recommended on the Sundown site so .75 tuned to 35hz. I have it with the sub and port facing the rear standing up in between the two rear fold down seats. I have always had bigger subs in sealed boxes and loved the way they sounded.

This was my first ported enclosure and don't get me wrong it slams the lows on some decaf but just is not doing it for me listening to regular music. I am looking to ditch the fold down seat behind me and put a sealed 15 back there ran off of the same amp.

I have been doing some looking around and The RE SEX15d4 v.1 seems has an RMS of 600 watts. The Sundown SE-15 I have heard does pretty good sealed and I will have plenty of power on tap for it with this amp.

Which do you guys think would be best? I don't want to go ported again because A. I do not have alot of space and B. I don't want to spend much time and money on building a new box.

I have also noticed that the bass sounds so much louder and fuller with my windows down which to me is the opposite of my past sealed setups. I don't like blasting y music with the windows down very much and in the summer in Phoenix I really don't want to have my windows down.

Is that amp going to be enough for that RE? The RE calls for 1.5 to 2.0 cubic feet for sealed and the Sundown calls for 2.5.

Any advice would be appreciated.

There are plenty of details in my post that prove it is not a which would be louder post which is not allowed in the rules. My question is which of the two is a better fit for a sealed enclosure given my power source and size constraints.

And what kind of car audio enthusiasts forum does not allow people to ask other peoples opinions about two different subwoofers and which they think would fit their needs better or match their amp the best? I literally just saw you comment on a vs thread where the poster said which would be louder.

It would only be a pissing match if people made it one. The question is simply between to different specific 15's and one amp. I guess is my hope would be that someone that has owned either of those two woofers could chime in. I am guessing that is not you.

A suggestion? Look into which parameters make a sub preform better in a sealed box.. make your call based on which one will preform better..

Lol got it. Heaven forbid members be allowed to give their opinions on subwoofers on a car audio forum. But firearms, politics, and sports are fair game. Nothing Divisive about those subjects. Seriously what a joke.
