Bump4life
It's not my point of view, ask any engineer about impedance RISE, he won't know what you are talking about. Impedance is just resistance + reactance. Reactance is dependant on frequency. If you plot the impedance: impedance in function of frequency, you will see there will be 2 peaks. It's called the impedance response. Did you read anything I posted? I clearly stated inductive reactance. The common word for this at least on the forum is box rise or impedance rise. But I'll do some research to see if I should start using impedance response instead if it is the official term used. But thanks for the info. I explained it correctly but was using an incorrect term it sounds like but a common term to this forum. That's the problem, people keep using the wrong terms. well thanks for edumacating Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. bkolfo4
Should we also mention going from 1500 watts per sub to 3000 watts per sub will gain you 2-2.5 dB IF you are lucky? Why bother destroying things for such little gain unless you are really competing. Pick up gain with the box design. . . Black00 was doing 154+ on 4 15's that were $125 stamped frame woofers with a pair of amps rated at 500 watts (TL score, sealed on the dash, down into the mid 30 Hz range). People seem to just worry about how much power can I run, and should I build a smaller box for less excursion or less impedance rise. . .crazy Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. Colin - STAPUFT
Good questions though OP, I'm curious myself. I'm planning on 2 HDC3 12"s on my 4 antique Hifonics Brutus amps (flame on!!). So 4 x 1600 rms = @2k watts. lol 12 - 12"s in the STAY PUFT 1989 Chevy Astro Build & Comment Log Un-Interrupted Build LogYouTube Channel Chevy Trailblazer 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS Install You have a beard of a mysterious sea captain. Ahmed Johnson
You know what OP, I respect that the fact you take a beating and keep on coming. Most noobs would be crying by now. I hope someone can help. I pretty much have the same shit as you and if I do upgrade the amps I'm gonna upgrade the subs too.
