KevinH Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 I was just wondering what size box i should build for my two 12" audiopipes they are the 1600 watt max models, right now they are in a two cubic foot center vented box, so 1 cube for each sub, which i think is way too small for them, i have subs in a jeep cherokee and they are powered by a spl 1600 watt amp , and i was wondering if making the box bigger will make the subs louder and sound better, so basically the pros and cons of a smaller box vs a bigger box any box designs and help is apprecitated, thanks
banginAltima Posted April 4, 2008 Report Posted April 4, 2008 I would go up to 4 cubes. should sound better too If you build it, db's will come... Boon Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 im looking for the most spl possible out of the subs By most SPL do you mean biggest number on a meter or just loud with music? If you want to tip the Termlab, make a smallish box (maybe 2 - 2.5 cubes after displacement) tuned to 50+hz with a big ass slot port or 1, maybe 2 6" Aeroports. If you want it loud for music, go for 3-4 cubes total, slot port to 40hz. 10.x volts fo' life!
KevinH Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 yea im going for loud with music, i get how to build a box with a slot port and all, but i dont get the part of tuning the box, can someone walk me through this?
