vitochelopez
Is there really a difference in your SQ in using different RCA's? I currently use the Scosche twisted entry series. Now would going to a more expensive or different set change anything audible as far as the SQ?
Ahmed Johnson
Are you hearing any noises? I have some cheap ones and some decent ones in my car now and they work fine. The only rca's that ever gave me a problem was the unshielded ones, that were see through.
vitochelopez
Yes I was getting major engine noise, and I placed some RCA filters and now its gone. I do have my power wires and RCA wires on separate sides of car. Not sure if its just the RCA's? They are the see through ones from Scosche. Ahmed Johnson
It could be a ground causing that. Other than the non shielded rca's, the only time I heard a whining noise was from a bad ground. When my rca's went bad, I would hear a crackling noise. Not sure if this helps you. aculous
I've been researching RCAs. Really the high quality the better. The SMD RCAs are really nice but yea twisted or not you need to check which you need. Also look for capacitance and resistance in the cable. A good cable with have ultra low resistance and low capacitance. Low capacitance meaning 17 pF or pico farads per foot. Thats probably more then you need to worry about...but yea look for cables that actually list those figures, chances are you are getting a cable someone engineered as opposed to cobbled together and will break easy.
