leeper Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 I'm looking to put a fi team sub with a d4500 amp in my 2001 santa fa (DAILY DRIVER) My question is how many amps should my alternator be? Also would a yellow top battery under the hood and two XS d5100r battery's in the trunk be enough power?

leeper Posted February 17, 2015 Author Report Posted February 17, 2015 I'm looking for a 600 amp alternator but the highest I have been able to find so far is 320 amps, no place near me knows how's how to build brackets and install two alternators in a vehicle
leeper Posted February 17, 2015 Author Report Posted February 17, 2015 So would a 320 amp alternator be enough? Or does anybody know where I can get a better alternator around 500-600 amps for my vehicle?
ToNasty Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 A 320 is plenty ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
rockFord_Expedition Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 For some reason, this smells like troll. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
leeper Posted February 17, 2015 Author Report Posted February 17, 2015 No not a troll, I had the same amp and sub in my Monte carlo before I sold it but didn't have the xs battery's instead I had two yellow tops (one under the hood one in the trunk) and a 520 amp alternator and the alternator went bad after a month or two
ToNasty Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Never heard of a 520 amp alt. biggest I've ever heard is a 370 or 390 ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
firebirdude Posted February 17, 2015 Report Posted February 17, 2015 Ain't nobody making a 600 amp alternator. And I call shens on your 520 amp one. If you really need that much power, (you don't) then you'll have to move to a multi-alternator setup with a little custom bracketry.
