ben1994 Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 I've read that mounting an amp vertically can be bad for cooling. Don't have a ton of spots to mount the amps in my camry so i was going to mount it on the back of the backseat on top of some plywood (I've read mounting on the box can cause damage). Can mounting an amp in a vertical position cause damage/overheat it? The amp is a rockford t1500-bdcp and a t400-4.

The word adequate never is reassuring. I just wanted to make sure nothing would really be damaged by it.
Deeznutz Posted February 21, 2015 Report Posted February 21, 2015 Adequate is "Adequate". lol. And yes, those caps inside the amps are soldered inplace and can resonate themselves and eventually break at the lead. I've seen people mount the amps with rubber insolators. -Frank
