Marijuana I have no problems with but I'd rather not have half my neighborhood strung out on meth or heroin.

You guys are living in fantasy land plain and simple, the mafia existed long before they even came to this country, tyrant existed long before democracy, evil people did evil things long before laws existed, people had drug addictions long before drugs were made illegal, and if drug are legal someone still has to sell them so you still have drug dealers.

Also In a anarchist society localized tyrants would take over basically every city and make there own laws anyways so like them or not there will always be laws and I'd rather have the ones we have than the ones some tyrannical mad man creates (see isis).

Again, I'm not proposing anarchy.

I propose we legalize drugs and have the government sell them REALLLLY cheap.

Yes, we'd still have drug addiction, but at least the government could now take in revenue and put more money towards addiction treatment.

News flash they still have black markets even in places where certain drugs are legal.

I think you're not hearing me. I'm not denying addiction and I'm certainly not denying that people would be addicted after it was legal. I'm not sure how my words can even be misconstrued that way?

The problem is that drugs being illegal isn't actually stopping people from using them...

Fact is there are tons of people that no brains and need to be told what's right and wrong and what they Can and cannot do which is why we have laws in the first place.

This argument really is kind of pointless too though because all drugs being legal and total freedom is never going to happen, at least not in any of our lifetimes.

Fact is this country is full of morons that need to be told exactly what they can and can't do because they are too stupid to figure it out for themselves and you guys know I'm right about that.

also I'm sure everyone here has broken laws and got away with it( I know I have way more than once) so unless you're getting arrested or ticketed for every little thing you do quit your damn whining.

You're creating a false dichotomy. Just because someone thinks something is wrong, doesn't mean they won't do it. Ever met an addict? They can very well think it is wrong and still do it.

We need to better educate people and give them more options. With drugs being illegal we have stigmatized addicts, stuck them in jail, given them no help, and helped maintain drug cartels.

Yes, I would definitely rather have the government sell the drugs. It would be WAY safer. The drug would always be pure, no chance of violence from the dealer, no middle men, no turf wars, and the profits could go to creating better rehab programs or perhaps better awareness of the deleterious effects of drugs.

They would educate people about drugs because we would vote that that is what we want done. Aren't they already doing that with cigarettes?
