As I stand now I have 6 1131xmf DEKA batteries at 1k cca a piece. I work at a battery store so I could easily swap them out for golf cart batteries.. they are 6 instead of 12V. Thoughts?

Waste of time. 6v batts will do nothing for you.

i wouldnt do it, too much wireing needed to work the 6vs in, just go with a nice sized 12v, do the math on the cost, figure how much it might cost to do the 6vs with batt cost and wire/connoctor cost, then see how much the 12v cost and to wire them up, 12v should be cheaper so the extra you would spend on 6v just get that in extra 12v and have more reserve and cranking amps...

Cost isnt important.. I get everything 10% above whole sale. I spent about 400 on 6 1000CCA batteries. I can always get more.. Thanks for the tips gents. So big truck batteries is the way to go. I'm using copper bus bars are + and - rails to connect the posts in one big line.. just gotta not drop a screw driver between them.

why 6v?

Sure, they're cheaper, but what the hell are they gonna do? Nothing.

no no.. one pos one neg.. two seperate rails. I was just asking about them.. I got 6 12v batteries already. they are DEKA's. I can get any battery made by DEKA.. How big do you need? heh I mean I have access to 8d's and 4's, gel cel 4'd.. they are enormous batteries though. As you might have noticed I dont know a whole lot about electricity or how to spell it.. A standard group 31 battery is big enough isnt it? Cause the bigger ones are like 2 feet long and 130lbs a pop but they only have like 400 more CCA than a group 31. Two group 31's dont take up as much space as one of the 904D's.. The 6v's was just an idea. I'm glad you guys stomped out that idea or i'd be feeling stupid looking at useless batteries..

now it wasnt that bad of an idea, but when you learn more about how to combine batts, and how combineing them in certan ways effect the amperage of the total batts.. its a learning process, and were here to help

since youre in the bat bussiness, what kind of deals can you get on the smaller sealed batts, kind of like the small ones they put into car jump start packs, or the kenitk 800s (cap killers)
