MeenGreenAudio Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 I have an earthquake h10000d amplifier hooked up to 2 re sexx 15s, i have little electrical work done on the truck and i think thats the problem but i wanted to be sure. When i have the truck running and I turn the amp on it drops the voltage ( according to my stinger voltmeter ) from 13.8 to 10.7 volts the amp will pulse like a heartbeat flexxing the subs a little and thats all i can get out of it whats wrong with it?? Tell me what i need to do to make it play im trying to have something at sbn and this is all thats stopping me, thanks guys Build Log 1996 chevy suburban 2 zv4 15 kenwood excelon mids and tweeters kenwood excelon deck mevhman 370 3 batts all different mechman avmb II 2 inch squat 33 inch muds straight pipes kixker zx series 4ch sundown amps memphis 0 gauge soon to be fu audio c pillar wall

n8ball2013 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 For one it's an earthquake. For two the pulsing typically means something isn't right internally. 3 volt drop is bad just from turning it on another sign Does it do it at all volume levels. Are all switches where they are supposed to be and not stuck in the middle etc. does it get worse as volume or gain is turned up. My goes is the amp output is toast and that's whyyou get the pulse and high voltage drop THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.

MeenGreenAudio Posted March 5, 2015 Author Report Posted March 5, 2015 is it worth fixing or would u think to get a different amp, i dont know what the true output is but all i need is 3500 watts and i was expecting the earthquake to put at least 4,000 watts out Build Log 1996 chevy suburban 2 zv4 15 kenwood excelon mids and tweeters kenwood excelon deck mevhman 370 3 batts all different mechman avmb II 2 inch squat 33 inch muds straight pipes kixker zx series 4ch sundown amps memphis 0 gauge soon to be fu audio c pillar wall
scooter99 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 I would be shocked if you got anywhere close to 4k out of that amp. But that being said, it does sound shot. I highly doubt you'll find anyone in here say yes rebuild that earthquake amp. HOw much did you buy it for in the first place? Is it new, or used? etc. I happen to have a Crescendo 3500.1, but you'd have to beef up electrical for it. But at the same time, any amp you get for that kind of power, you're going to need to beef up your electrical. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
n8ball2013 Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 It's rated at 3k. Earthquake was never known for durability. Or clean power. I've seen them go up when they weren't even playing. Good times.
