Magnon Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 OK guys i finally got my tax return after a month of waiting and i'm trying to decide if i should go with a 270 amp or a 330 amp alt i can get a 270 for 325 shipped to me or get a 330 amp alt for 709( im not going to state which manufacture make the alts because dont want it to be a vs thread.) im going to be running 2 sundown x18s on a bc 3500 in a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 4.3l. which alt whould u guys chose for my build.

Ahmed Johnson Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 It really depends on what your goals and needs for the alternator. I'm just cheap and have a hard time paying almost 400 for 60 amps. What are they rated at idle?

Anyways OP, if one is hairpin do that, both are plenty of juice for you, go with the highest output at idle/hairpin if there is one.
