MrSllez Posted March 21, 2015 Author Report Posted March 21, 2015 Also is it normal for woofer to move very little/almost nothing at tuning frequency? Like whenever mine plays at 33hz it moves almost nothing. Yup, that is exactly what it is supposed to do. Well sub mostly gets warm when playing decaf at that frequency. I am really curious what this problem cound be because people run these 2515 daily and they have no problems... Could there be any box error? Port area is about 320cm2 so that should be fine.
MrSkippyJ Posted March 21, 2015 Report Posted March 21, 2015 it could still be clipping. the method you used to set your gains doesn't eliminate clipping. MrSllez Posted March 21, 2015 Author Report Posted March 21, 2015 it could still be clipping. the method you used to set your gains doesn't eliminate clipping. Reciever has max output of 2.2V and my amp gain is at 3V
MrSkippyJ Posted March 21, 2015 Report Posted March 21, 2015 that still doesn't eliminate clipping. You won't know you are clip free until you use a tool designed to identify clipping to check for it. MrSllez Posted March 21, 2015 Author Report Posted March 21, 2015 Well yea...i dont have osciloscope or clip detecting tool, but i still dont think my gain would be a problem. SHouldnt you just set gain to match voltage of source output? On this specific amp it varies from 0.2V to 8V and i have it set right at about 3V. I measured output voltage of reciever at different frequencies at max power and it is about 2.2V.
MrSkippyJ Posted March 21, 2015 Report Posted March 21, 2015 matching voltage is nice, but you have no idea if the signal itself is good or not. F150: Stock 2019 Harley Road Glide: Amp: TM400Xad - 4 channel 400 watt Processor: DSR1 Fairing (Front) 6.5s -MMats PA601cx Lid (Rear) 6x9s - TMS69
MrSllez Posted March 21, 2015 Author Report Posted March 21, 2015 matching voltage is nice, but you have no idea if the signal itself is good or not. Well i also tried taking output directly from my PC and from my phone but the result was same.
