RooTxBeeR
How big are you going to make the box for that thing? My buddy just got one from some wheelin and dealin and we were told that they need anywhere from 4-5 cu ft after displacements. Is that really true??From the research I've done, I was told to not go over 4cuft. I'm going to be running more power so I'm backing down to 3.8 currently. Thinking about shrinking a little bit more too. Currently looking at 3.8cuft box tuned to 36hz with 38sqin of Port. tuned in. what sub are you running been a while in the making9515j on a m4. RooTxBeeR
So we went and bought a big ass box from the moving store near me. Turns out, it can slide in! We are so damn happy to this, because it save us a lot of work to be able to slide in through the trunk. We no longer have to cut any of the rear seat wells. Things are looking great. A long with finding this, we brought the rest of all the gear to my house, in preparation for the build to be bumping soon. Now when we first looked at his battery, we thought it was a AGM. It is a lead cell, right now my buddy doesn't have money to replace to main battery with an AGM or purchase an isolater. So we will be just running off stock alt and battery for the first while. Will set gains with DD-1 and back off until voltage is in no less than 12v. Here go some more pics. Also, beware folks. Uber amp porn inbound. RooTxBeeR
A friend and I where talking about doing a install in his car. And he was asking about sound deadener. I knew I had some from long ago so I went to get it to show him what it looks like. Little did I know, from the 40sqft bulk pack my dad bought me like 5 years ago. That I forgot about. I only used about 9sqft. I still have 15 sheets. 13 of which are intact and perfect condition. Can't believe it! RooTxBeeR
More work is to be done today. We are very close to being loud. Really the main things we need to is build the box and run the 1/0 from the alt to the back. After that it's just found the amp and sub and wire them up. Also, morning bumps. Check the build out people! RooTxBeeR
Looking very good! Did you decide on how the front baffle was going to look? Yeah, 1st board is going to flush mount. Originally we where going against that. But the ports are going to sit pretty flush, so we will also flush mount the woofer too. RooTxBeeR
Got the shell constructed today. Wanted to run the power wire but found out I do not have a deep 1/2 socket. Grabbing that from my dad tonight, so we can get the power wire ran tomorrow or what ever the next day is that we work. Here is the baffle as it sits not, nothing done yet. Box construction Tight fit!!! Edit: Forgot about this guy. While switching between the countersink bit and the actual phillips bit. I never switched my torque back. So on one of the screws, it ended up stripping. So we doubled up around it to get the bite we wanted.
