Andrew Wise Posted April 15, 2015 Report Posted April 15, 2015 Does anybody have a pinout for a Pioneer proprietary 17 pin cable. I am trying to output video from an iPhone 5c. What i would like to do is take an Apple to HDMI adapter, connect sound and video out from the HDMI adapter to the 17 pin Pioneer cable. Is this possible? Will the AVIC accept a digital video signal?
SIDE SHOW Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 I hate ipods... does it work with the handbreak on?
SIDE SHOW Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 i did a quick google search and there are a few vids on youtube on how to bypass the handbreak ect for display boards ect. but cant seem to find a pin layout.

Andrew Wise Posted April 16, 2015 Author Report Posted April 16, 2015 That would work, but if there was a pin out, i could in theroy build a pioneer 17 pin cable to VGA? Does the AVIC series accept digital video? Or does it strictly take an analog video signal?

Just using your iPhone 5 to play videos on your Headunit? You need that kit to make your iPhone 5 even compatible to play videos on that headunit...there is also a firmware update if you go that route...the easiest and cheapest way to play videos is through a thumb drive...
