Mosley_23 Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 Okay i bought a redtop battery a while back to swtich out with my stock when i had a smaller system and not my amp lights are dimming meaning they are pulling to much power obviously. So i was wondering is i could throw my stock battery back up front which is a (AZ BXT-96R Motorcraft) and putting the redtop in the trunk with the amps? Just wondering since one is acid and the other is not. Still a new guy trying to learn. Thanks
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 They are both lead acid batteries one is wet cell (stock) and the other is a agm (redtop). The wet cell will pull the agm's voltage down at rest. Some people do it but I personally would not do it without an isolator. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Mosley_23 Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 Ok. Man i was hoping i could just hook them up and go but nothing is simple in the car audio world
Guest Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 you can do it but it will shorten the redtops life and/or the stock batt
Mosley_23 Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 Would this work ? http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/SS01/08770/N0356.oap?ck=Search_battery+isolators_-1_1902&keyword=battery+isolators
