gally
i i recently built something different than i used to a aero ported box Thing is..can i GET THE SAME tuning frequency if I port the Aeroport OUTSIDE the box ?? like an External Aero? Also..the lenght of the inside the box tuning would be the same as if i do it on the outside? not asking any in particular just this..as if i do that i can get that extra space or not..just asking 2010 Chevrolet Cruze Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5" Sub Control --- Pac LC1 Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1 Battery - GZBP 12.2500X
Jessica
moving the port outside will increase box volume and change tuning. Cant remember which way though. Maybe up? edit: of course you can change port length to compensate. Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. boometro
tuning may change a small amount as the port is not taking up airspace anymore. i could be wrong though.
gally
ok..im using a port calculator..and if i do an external Aero..in the calculator do i mark as a number of ports at -1 instead of 1(as it would be normal if the aero would ba inside of the box???) normally Quantity of ports - 1Enter Enclosure Volume - 1.9 (ft3 )Enter Desired Tuning Frequency - 40 Hertz Round VentEnter Desired Port Diameter - 4 Inches Vent Length - 8,21 Inches outside the box??? Quantity of ports -__ -1__Enter Enclosure Volume - 1,9 (ft3 )Enter Desired Tuning Frequency - 40 Hertz Round VentEnter Desired Port Diameter - 4 Inches Vent Length - __-14,21__ Inches is that correct or am i mistaking something? 2010 Chevrolet Cruze Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5" Sub Control --- Pac LC1 Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1 Battery - GZBP 12.2500X
khinds94
It's still 1 port. Just more volume. You won't notice the difference between the port outside or inside the box. It does increase efficiency slightly though 03 Sable LS AA mayhem 12" D2 Sundown ZV4 12" D1 Tantric HD 12" D2 Tantric SHD 12" D1 Sundown X12 V2 D2 2.5 cu net Sundown 2000d @ 1 ohm XS Power XP2000 Sky High Sound Deadener Sky High wire Stock alt
Jessica
Just do pi*r^2 x port length and add that to the box volume in your calculator and see what it does. Leave port at 1 and proper dimensions Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. My super random youtube channel and terrible camera work. Jessica
just saying figure the volume of the port, add it to the volume of the box (if the box is already built) and then refigure. but really, one 4" port at 9" is like .06cuft, probably wont make any noticable difference in or out of the box. If you havent built it yet you can accommodate. Did you figure sub displacement also? Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside.
