You can build better than that for around $500 minus and a legit OS. So I can only assume less than that.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

I had traded with a guy at school for a ibanez 5 string bass seemed like a fair trade to me, then he gets back up with me saying it wouldn't run any games and wasn't worth 100$ in parts. Turns out he never even hooked it up or tried to play any games.

I knew it was worth more than 100$ lol.

I don't know what he was expecting for 3-400$ but good riddance.

EVGA x58 3x SLI motherboard socket 1366 - Worth $120

Intel xeon x5570 (roughly an I7 940) 2.93ghz quad core, 3.33ghz max turbo 8MB L3 - Worth $25

12gb DDR 3 1333 (3 x 4gb) - Worth about $50

EVGA GTX 470 superclocked 320bit 1.28GB 2x DVI 1x HDMI - Worth about $60

500gb sata HDD - Wroth about $25

1TB sata HDD - Worth about $40

About $430 all together if you were to part it out and find interest per piece on craigslist. It would be about 13% lower ($374) if you were to sell it on eBay.

I call shens. 1366 is going to give a strong fight on most offerings in the $500 range. Now throw in power use, and that $500 system will probably win. You could slap a stronger GPU in there and an SSD for OS, slight OC and slap 'er in the ass and let it rip for a few more years if you wanted.

The board is going to sell first if you part it. x58 boards are holding value and some appreciating in value, believe it or not.
