BigManAC
As some of you may have saw I put two DC lvl 2 12's in my friends Fusion and he loves it. He just asked me about putting new door speakers in his car. I cant figure out if his car has a stock amplifier though. Its a 2012 Fusion with the Sony system. Does anyone know if it does have a stock amp? I am thinking about amplifying his speakers but not sure how exactly to go about it. He has 10 speakers in his car but I think I am just going to leave the tweeters stock and just do the front/rear doors and the rear deck. Any advice is greatly appreciated. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
brendanthekid
Did a little research, and it appears to be a 390-watt system, which definitely says factory amp to me. but DAMN those black women are fucking scary facebook.com/brendan.laliberte.
BigManAC
Ill just throw this in. I was thinking about the Rockford Fosgate T1682 for the front and T1692 for the rear deck and amplifying those. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw

bcbrassard
Not that i am against oval speakers, and i think the T1682s would be good as well as the T1692s (which i have used) but if its a 10 speakers system dont you think the stock speakers will be crossed over already and if you replace single drivers with 2-way drivers it will be harder to tune properly let alone amplify? I would do your research well and get input from the pros on here. Sounds like DSP time to make it work right. ? but i am no expert my any means. BigManAC
I didnt even think about that, thats a good point. Yeah I have no clue what I need to do. If I have to install an amp I can do that but I would prefer not to. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
bcbrassard
I think your other thread and advice on changing out the front speaker first is a good first step. Finding out how clean the system is with a Oscope or DD-1. New speakers on the same power will most likely sound better at higher volumes but not get much louder if any. But its the cheapest way to improve the quality and them amplify them if needed. Just my 2cents
BigManAC
When I installed his new HU I did set everything with the DD-1 but I wasn't sure where the stock amp was or how to check it. He said he mainly wants the speakers just to sound cleaner. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
bcbrassard
Clean out of the HU is good but what about after the factory amp? I see your getting great advice from the other thread. I would worry about mixing after market HU and stock Amps for a clean signal. With a good LOC or DSP its a roll of the dice IMO. I under stand what your doing but without know the signal connections(RCA, or Other) to stock amps its where i get lost and would want either factory amps with better speakers or After market everything or a DSP and then amps. But thats me and i am nobody. lol
