Jon Esparza Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Hello, I'm looking for the correct settings for my American Bass VFL 100.1 that is paired with two 12' American Bass XFL in a ported box. The stereo shop that did my instal was ignorant on the subject. All they did was turn the gain up all the way on my amp and said I was ready to rock.
Rich Schenk Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Get a dd-1 or oscilloscope to tune it properly if not check the tool amp to see if anyone near you has one. Gain isn't a volume knob. If it was me I would go to a different shop. On 3/28/2014 at 4:22 PM, KyLar96 said: Its all about the music anyway..... Karkov Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Do NOT play your system with the gain all the way up. Find a way to set it properly like Rick has already said. Maybe your HU has low preout voltage IDK. You will wreck your voice coils if you play it with gain all the way up. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. My A4's door wouldn't shut properly and the rubber weather stripping was lapped over rather than under like when it came from the factory. The shop pulled back a plastic piece of trunk trim and screwed a bracket into and onto my sub box. It was bent over exposing the black metal. If I would've stomped on the gas the weight of the box would've ripped my trim out.
