SoundQubed HDC 3.0 Question

Recommended Posts

I've been looking into 2 12"s for a while now and I'm liking the HDC 3.0s.

Question is:
Will they have any trouble with running @1,000-1,2000 RMS clean to each voice coil (2k rms / sub)?

Equipment would be:
4 Brutus 1600s (should do around 1k or better RMS) on 2 subs. Gain matched, running 1 ohm per coil.

Will have the 1 under hood battery and 2 to 4 equal make and size in addition.

Will have Big 3, but stock alternator.

Application:
Biggest ported box allowable below the window line in an extended cap 1st gen Nissan Frontier. Will be a daily driver so I will be listening to it, but really want it to shine in Park & Pound / Bass Race type applications.

So I guess what I am asking is how will they like that kind of power. ...from what I'm seeing, they will laugh at it and want more. I'm just slow to act on going with things I will have to purchase- I already have the amps, subs would be the least of the expenses- as batteries are going to be pricey getting 5 of them.

Experience and input is appreciated.

Thanks guys- Colin.

I am giving the Hds3 series 12s a clean 1k each after rise (amm.1'd). They will get smelly after 3 songs or so, then again depending on the songs.

edit: that was just to give some insight, I imagine the hdc3 coil is much better, so I would say it would at least handle 1.5k, leaning towards 2k.

I ran 3k to one hdc3 15 and never had issues. Obviously after rise it was much less. Just set you gains right and I'm sure you will be fine

They are out of stock at the moment, but it isn't like I am going to get them tomorrow. Life is constantly happening at my house.

I have the feeling like Cj said, if given clean matched power that they would be fine. Tuning would be around the frequency AMI Customs (The Black Nasty) Recommends- even though he's running the 4.0s and on a totally different level. :D
