Bump4life Posted June 1, 2015 Report Posted June 1, 2015 A quality alternator with as big of a battery up front with excellent wiring is all you'd need. DDspl12s Posted June 1, 2015 Author Report Posted June 1, 2015 Hey thanks man.. I heard a rule of thumb is like 80 amps per 1000 watts.,, I think I am just going to go with the 170 amp from Mike Singer... Before I buy this.. is there such thing as "overkill" when it comes to an alt? Like what if i go for a 240 amp alt...I was thinking this because I may want to upgrade or strap up amps..etc,, Thanks

reedal Posted June 1, 2015 Report Posted June 1, 2015 There's no such thing as too much alternator. It will only generate as much as it is built to, and only produces what is needed at the time.
