Runs fine for a minute then up and down goes the rpms.. Just stalled out again. Did this yesterday with original grounds and upgraded alternator power run.I need help before it gets dark. Pariah
Engine surge up and down at idle is usually a vacuum leak.
Skullz
Your pcm gets reset and will take a minute of running to get a stable idle. If it has been longer than that then start checking around and see what you accidentally knocked loose, like a vacuum line or plug. EDIT: Make sure you check all plugs in the event you pulled one off so you could route the wire. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
illestVillian
now it's running fine. If I tap the gas , it's drops after the rpms come down. Dont think I worked near any vacuum lines. It ran perfectly fine until I started this big 3. So let it run awhile and it reset itself?

ProMaxx316
what kind of car/truck?? I have done a few batteries and alts on some chevys in my job and when we restart we end up having idle problems. After cleaning throttle body truck runs good. Found out that the ECU would loose memory and dirty throttle body would give a little problems. If it's worth building, it's worth over building. illestVillian
Seems like a grounding issue like I had years ago on another car. I wired wheeled all contact points before hooking them up
Pariah
Is the lower voltage just a result of a lower idle speed? How many miles, have the valves ever been adjusted?
