My Attempt At A T-line

Recommended Posts

I would honestly try to run 2 lines over 1 line for the both. From what I have noticed, using 2 subs to share one line, side by side, raises over Q of the box, so it gets more punch at and above tline tuning, for burps, or bass race it would be benificial, but the bandwidth wont be there for every day music

If you built 2 identicle tlines, side by side, with all the same measurements, you would have the SQ on hand, or to do a seperate chambered tline

Another option is to build a slight chamber of air space behind the 2-15s sharing, some people call it Choking? I havent done it to much

And for ultimate LOW end response, you can build 1 tline, and to isobaric-pushpull with the 2 15s, but in that box, they wont be to happy with 3000watts behind them, but the low end is GREAT!

Lastly, if you have the space, a dual 15" bandpass tline would be insane, great SQ, great SPL but for the 2-15s, you would need to sacrifice about 3-4cf sealed side, and then do maybe a tapered line, almost a horn, so this is where it would be possible to save a little room, start the line at, behind the sub tight, like maybe 25% of the total cone area and end at about 125% cone area.

If this were ME, I would do the dual 15 bandpass-dual lines, shared airspace sealed, tapered 25% start, end 125%-150% of cone area, and tune the line at double the cabin Fs, so actually like a 55/60hz quarter wave, and if you have a slight boost in the 30hz area, you should see some incredible output (would not be peaky at 60hz, due to cabin gain, and 30hz boost)

but again, dont think they will like that 3000watts to much

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

i could always put less power to them. i just have up to 3k for each on tap. i would just like to hear these boxes. and ima have to look up some designs on those other boxes cuz i cant quite picture the bandpass and isobaric pushpull and such. i think i know what a 'horn' looks like...but just gotta make sure to fit it in my car. just a lil more research to do ;)

thanks a lot for the response! i appreciate it :)

I would run a little less power. I am running my 15 in a T-line and I had to turn down the gains a little bit, cause at the really low frequencies the subs would start bottoming out. BTW, im sure it will fucking slam with 2 in a t-line. my 1 in a t-line is louder than my 2 in a normal ported box.

My System:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT

4-Dayton 7 inch reference series (front doors)

8-Onkyo 3/4 inch tweeters (dash)

1-Sundown Audio 100.4D (mids/highs)

2-18" BTL's (for now)

Crescendo 3kwp (for sale)

Complete rebuild coming soon...

yeah i'll probably run the recommended 2k ish to em. slowly adjust so nothing gets hurt. i'd just like to see what all the hype is about these boxes is about :) sounds promising tho from what i hear

my 1 in a t-line is louder than my 2 in a normal ported box.

This is why I'm hesitant to go with two subs ported.

I can find a camera good enough to catch it but my whole truck breathes on low notes.

I open my drivers door and the part where the latch is moves back and forth.

Plus my rear-view mirror likes to play hop-scotch.

I have gotten so many compliments on how loud my truck is, and great facial expressions when I pop the back glass.

I'm thinking of going with a 6th Order T-Line/Horn.

Lotta wood curious as results tho...

Tune one side to like 16hz, other to 32. (Octaves of each other.)

Box would be the size of Montana but would probably sound great.

On a side note.

I have not had any problems with sub over-excursion.

Have not bottomed out my 12".

I tried to tho; slowed down Bass, I Love You.
