Is there anything wrong with this box design?

Alright so I've always had one requirement with any sub box I design.

1. It HAS to be fairly easily removable. I mountain bike a LOT and this is my daily driver. On top of that sometimes I have to haul a lot of stuff.

2. It has to be under the window line. (16.5 inches)

I have always dreamed of having two 18" subs. There's just something about two MASSIVE woofers. Mmm.

So I've done a lot of measuring and because i have such an odd shaped trunk, the only way two 18s will fit is if I have them depth-wise instead of vertically or horizontally.

Think of Steve's Tahoe. Instead of:

Where X = 18" woofer, it would be

And the port would be back. I've taken all sorts of measurements, my trunk is 33" at its WIDEST, and 27" tall. This is the only way two 18s will fit unless I did a 2nd row wall, which breaks rule 1 unless it would be possible to drag the box out of the passenger doors.

My question is, with two woofers that way instead of horizontal like most builds, will that cause any problems?

That woofer orientation is fine.

There is no such thing as an easily removable box for 2 18"s. Not a box worth a shit anyway. A decent box will be huge/heavy/hard to move.

Weight I'm not worried about, just being able to slide it out is what I'm worried about. My current box is over 100 lbs, I just add a couple handles, and use an engine block lift and pull it out. I figure a box for two 18s should be around 250-300lbs?

Using the some of the subs that need the least net airspace like the Sundown Zv3 18, something like this could be done:

Would still need at least 5" clearance to the rear gate. Nothing like 16 1/2" tall but sometimes you do what you need to do.

That's actually pretty cool looking. Joe, I'm going to go take measurements with the seats down.

I've contemplated making almost a mini wall, but who knows.

And that 29" of depth is including 5" of clearance because my wagon comes with the dumbest rear window motor in the world.
