Got a new ride..2013 maxima . Just bought 2 x12s d2 going to be running them off of 2 memphis mc1.1100s strapped together 2200w rms. planning to run them firing forward and trunk sealed off. Also planing to make a trim out of fiberglass to make it look nice. I just ordered the subs last night online since theres no sundown dealers in my area and i wanted to see if i could get some help with the box design before i get them. Also i know double baffle is a must and also the technically i am "underpowering" the subs i do plan to double the baffle and these amos are rated 1100w each but im sure they do more even the birth sheets say almost 1200w rms certified power.

Space up to 38" width .. 15" height .. 26" depth music rap/hip hop

Can't get decent airspace in those dimensions, at most 1.5 net per driver and those will work 2.25+. It seems you will need to build inside.

im sorry i really undershot the dimensions so i could build out side the trunk..the real amount of space i have is 38"width. 15" hieght...and 26" depth..and yes it will have to be built inside the trunk..bug subs ..small trunk

Ok here is a suggestion taking all your space, some people are able to get the box in from the backseats so check that out, power: to subs rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 6", figure is just an assembly guide:

NOTE: If building outside you need to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit in it's way inside.

that design looks badass joe x..thx i appreciate it..hey i only have one concern sundown reccomends 2.5ft^3 per driver for the x12 at rated power..since im technically underpowering these wooferes by about 50-100wrms do you think that this box would be too small considering its about 4.5ft^3 net or no?

I have used every bit of space you gave, I understand your concern although the difference is very small, 1/4 of a cubic feet per driver is not going to cost you much performance anyways, if you determine you have more space I can change it, in any case, overtime you could also upgrade power to get more out of the subs.

Hey i remeasured. I didnt account for port clearance before and now accounting for port clearance i measured a little farther back away from the rear seat. Theres a lip that lower than the rest of the trunk . So i actually have 1 more inch of hieght i can use .,really like 1 3/4" but lets say 1 to be sure it will clear . So total dimemsions 38w x16h x 26d

. I ran a quick port calculator and it said for 32hz the port doesnt change much.. With 6x13.5 port it was 36.9" port length and now with an extra inch hieght its shows 37" port length. Your port is 36.5 " long right. So all i would have to do is just add the 1 in to all the hieght dimensions and and extra .5 " to the port extensions right?

Also on the last box you designed i did the 45s and they worked out great but this time around i dont plan on doing the 45s because im going to have to use 1" x1" cleats to build this box in the trunk and i dont want the air space to be too affected by the 45s . I will do the 45s in the center of the port thought because they afect the port width and length
