SGT_76
subs up/port to passenger side, do not go with 10 c/f , those subs LOVE smaller boxes, go with 8 c/f and about 110 SQ of port. Should be something like: 32" W x 22.5" H x 28" D Port: 26.5" D x 4" H x 20" Long That would be about 8 c/f and 106SQ of port tuned to 34 hz after displacements using 3/4" thickness, add a second layer on top if you can and a couple of braces, that box should work out just fine, i was burping 51s @ 40 hz on 2 9515 and a dd m3a with something very similar. Been offline...shattered another phone...ugh. Anyway, thanks for the input. See this is where it gets confusing, in my research some say they like larger enclosures with a lot of port. And some say smaller like u. Been looking into adjustable aero ports as a possible option also. I did decide to completely remove the back seats though. I'm a traveling contractor and spend more than 2/3 of the year on the road. So I'm going to build a bed to replace the back seat (tired of being uncomfortable when there's no motels lol) and incorporate the enclosure, batts and amp rack into the base...so yes it will be built solid. Since the bed will be across the entire top... Any adverse effects of the subs and/or port facing the rear wall of the cab? Only thing that worries me about subs forward is me accidentally putting a foot through one when I wake up lol. Subs down - firing is an option also? Just worry about their weight causing problems cause I drive some pretty bad roads at times.
fecupe2001
Honestly speaking, people love to give their opinions about things they have never tested and just repeating things they have seen on the internet, i´ve tested all the DD subs A LOT, box is designed according to many factors , not only the subs. I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Bump4life
see i have excperienced many many dd subs. althoguh fecupe is very knowledgeable. from my experience, i love big boxes for dd. IMO 5 cubes NET for each 15 and around 80-100 sq inches of port is what I have had best results in. tuned around 37 for a good daily box. if you are trying to play decaf aka sub 28hz dont listen to me. if you want to play normal music listen to me. also this is on rated to double rated unclipped power. IMO your box is too small both on size and port Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now.
