My longest detection with my redline , was 7.5 miles on the freeway with a couple slight curves and and hill.

If you get the red line, look into running it with RDR off and utilize band segmentation to increase the response time, but before turning off any frequency bands, drive around in spec mode for a few weeks and keep note of the Ka band freqs you pick up. Usually it's 33.8 +/- .15ghz, 34.7 +/-, and 35.5 +/-

As was said, all detectors are useless if you're the only car on the road or leading the pack (as you probably would be if you're speeding). Radar jammers are illegal in every state and have been for years. Laser jammers work, but are illegal in some states.

Many also require reasonably extensive installation.

Honestly, let's look at the trade offs. Your best weapon against speeding tickets is not speeding. I would hope you're not speeding with your kids in the car. That aside, let's look at how often you speed vs how often a police officer would actually catch you and how much the ticket would cost. Measure that against the $750 detector or 4-digit detector/jammer system. It just ain't worth it man. It's your call of course, but I don't get pulled over even once every two years and I don't have a detector.
