Triticum Agricolam Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 You could use anywhere from 3 to 5 cubes, maybe as much as 6 cubes. The larger you make the box, the more output you will get around the tuning frequency, but it will get more peaky. If it were me I'd probably go with 5 cubes. You are going to have to set your subsonic filter well. CamEnglish Posted July 29, 2015 Author Report Posted July 29, 2015 What do you mean peaky? Like louder in a specific frequency? and why do i need to set my filter? 2009 Chevy 2500HD 6" Lift 35" Nittos 22"x13" Fuel Kranks Pioneer App Radio 3 Alpine 500x5 Memphis PRX 1.1000 Memphis Mojo5 12" Red Oracle Halos
Triticum Agricolam Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 By peaky I mean there will be a peak in output around the tuning frequency. You need to set your subsonic filter 1/2 octave below your tuning frequency, this is to prevent the cone excursion from becoming too great and breaking your sub if you play any content that is too low. Joe X Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 The HDS215 models pretty nice on 4.5 net @ 35Hz, suggested port area about 50 square inches, take a look: A pretty big box to fit, if you mind a little smaller box would give you similar performance, push around rated power and set your subsonic filter to 28Hz.
