Bahooki Posted September 2, 2015 Report Posted September 2, 2015 I'm having a lot of trouble understanding what sub/amp I can run at what power. About the only thing I understand is that I want RMS, not peak. However, I'm getting confused by how I need to run my sub at 2Ohm, but then the amp at 4Ohm? I'm looking on a Crutchfield guide, and it's just not helping. I'd like to get the Alpine MRX-M110 and the Alpine SWR12D2 or SWR12D4, depending on what I need. That's what I'm here to ask. If I want to run the amp at 1100watts at 2Ohm, should I just get the SWR12D2 because it's DVC 2ohms as well, or for some reason do I need to go with 4ohms? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Bahooki Posted September 3, 2015 Author Report Posted September 3, 2015 Thank you guys for your insight. I ended up getting a stupid good deal on a 1200 watt Rockford mono 1ohm amp. I looked on craigslist, and the guy bought the amp for his speakers but found out it wouldn't work. $150
