I was seeing if anyone knows of could figure out the port length to tune the box at 34 hertz. You are correct in that a square port is more efficient than a slot port of equal area, however efficiency has nothing to do with tuning frequency. Since slot ports usually share common walls with the rest of the box, this makes them perform like they are longer than the really are, and thus they can be slightly shorter.
