I came here last year looking for a design for my sa-8 for my trans am, well that sold so I don't have any size restrictions as it will be going in the trunk of a 06 Jetta. Stock electrical on the Jetta, and the amp is an AQ1200d, which will be running at 2 ohms. ( around 600-700 rms )

I tried emailing Sundown, but haven't got a response back in over a week, so I thought I'd just ask here, thanks

Sundown posts the recommended enclosure specs on their site. .5 - .75 cf ported at 35 hz. Just what's best is up to you. The larger the box the more output you will get around tuning, but it will be more peaky.

....... I can't believe I missed that :fool:

Thanks man.. so if I had around .75 net after port and displacement that would be a good musical setup? I know Im working with restrictions being it is only an 8 , but I just want to get as much low end as I can out of it. Also what is the calculation for figuring out how much port area I will need? It's been a while since I studied enclosure designs , but remember too large, or too small of a port area can really hurt performance?
