12 inch Subwoofer enclosure design

Hi, I just purchased a http://www.crutchfield.com/S-g7ZX3hMdpiM/p_130TW3K3D4/Pioneer-Champion-Series-PRO-TS-W3003D4.html
and was wondering if somebody could recommend a design for a ported box (including all measurements and port width etc) would be much appreciated.

I am considering a wedge design to put in the middle of the boot with the sub facing upwards.
Or sitting a normal rectangular box on the side of the boot as shown in the image, but it is only a 41 cm gap (16.1417 inches) and the sub will be facing sideways (I was told that it sounds better when the sub is facing outside the boot).
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

In my personal experience it sounds best sub facing up port facing back. Build your box 1.5 cubic feet internal and tune it to 34-ish hertz. You may need to do some research on how many square inches of port that particular sub prefers.

In a trunk car firing the sub up may cause rattling and loss of output, you may try any other configurations, usually firing everything back, sub back port side and everything forward sealing off are the most common configurations.

True definitely causes rattling of the trunk lid just my personal experience with trunk setups. I tried many different configurations and my loudest score in my civic was with sub up port back but every car is different.
