tdsa23
You could be clipping. Even at 1/4 gain Sub on hu should be at 0 Depends on the HU but definitely some dirty power getting to those coils. Find HU clipping point and reset gain on amp correctly. Like he said depends on the HU I have my sub level up. So find you HU clipping point and reset gains. mrd6
Agreed to set gains correctly as all have said. In addition, i'd try turning your subsonic filter down...assuming you have a decent box for those subs, you probably have no need to run the subsonic at all. CleanSierra
All of my Kenwood eXcelon units were clip free at 35/35 on the volume knob. You get full 5V from the sub out RCAs, I always set my sub level at +15. This was still, clip free on all eXcelon decks. Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. CleanSierra
To answer your question about gain setting on the amp, you could definitely be clipping. Due to the fact that your head unit puts out so much voltage, it doesn't take much of a turn on the gain knob to match that voltage. Does that make sense?
