StuntBoy Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Hi fellas, here's my question. I had posted a post earlier about my amp taking a dump. Warranty said it was due to my sub wiring set up that cause the issue. Here's how I have my subs wired up. Two 15" kicker cvr 4ohm I have them wired to 2 ohm I have one sub going to the other,so I just have one positive and negative going to the mono 1ohm stable amp. Would that cause any damage to amp?
Miguels Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 no it wont..you can also wire each sub directly to the amp and will work the same my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
StuntBoy Posted October 14, 2015 Author Report Posted October 14, 2015 Ok,I thought so. They are given me a hard time for an exchange smdh. I know for a fact subs are wired correctly, the way they are wired drops them down to a 1ohm which that's what the amp
Triticum Agricolam Posted October 14, 2015 Report Posted October 14, 2015 Yeah if you have two 4-ohm DVC subs, there is no possible way to wire them to less than a 1-ohm load. Hopefully you can get whomever you are dealing with to work with you.
